Hi, I’m Staci. I currently live in Kuwait with my recently retired US Marine husband and our three young kids. Since our adventure started together nine years ago, we have lived in four states and three countries.
As a kid I spent my whole life in the same town in Oklahoma, so this has been quite a ride! We have been in Kuwait for a short time but we are falling in love with it.
If you’d met me 10 years ago, you could have described me as fearful of my finances. I no longer live in fear. Sometimes I want to stray off of the path, but I stay on track with my mantra:
I was raised by a single mom, and there was always stress associated with money-or more specifically, a lack of money. Supporting myself through college, student loan payoff, and life made me even more fearful of spending money than I had been while growing up. I did not have a healthy relationship with it, and I gave it power over me. Anytime we are afraid of something, it has a power over us. This is not how we should live our lives. We are made to thrive!
I’d describe my former self as fearful. I scrimped and saved and paid off my student loan debt in two years. I built an emergency fund. I started saving for future goals, including a home and retirement.
But I was still afraid.
Scared of losing it all.
Terrified I would somehow end up living paycheck to paycheck again. Or worse.
How could I be afraid after working so hard to pay off debt? Scared after being responsible with my money and making “wise” choices?
My “light bulb” moment came when I asked myself this question:
The answer, when I dug deep, was that I didn’t feel like I’d ever feel financially secure. Not with millions in the bank, or with investments or numerous properties…it always felt like I was on the brink of disaster.
WHY? How could this be? I didn’t have millions, but knowing that if I did I STILL wouldn’t be able to relax, made me uneasy.
For me, a healthy relationship with money was a journey. It still is. I’ve learned to take control over it, instead of feeling that it had control over me.
Here is what I have found. This is what I want for everyone:
FREEDOM from worry about money. I want you to BE EMPOWERED. I want you FREE of fear. I want you to THRIVE. I want you to come from a place of ABUNDANCE, and not a place of scarcity.
As a money coach I help women come from a place of abundance, not scarcity. I’d love to help you on your journey! http://www.streamline365.com/coaching/
It doesn’t take hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank to feel financially secure. It takes coming from a place of confidence-confidence that you have control over your finances and are making responsible decisions that will help you prosper and live a full, content life.
So, let’s do this! Please share your comments, thoughts, fears…we are all in this together! I’d love to hear from you!
