My coaching philosophy is simple.
I don’t want this to be painful, I want it to be empowering!!!
I do not believe in extremes when it comes to overhauling your finances. It has been proven time and again that big, enormous life changes fail miserably 99% of the time. (New Year’s Resolutions/extreme diets…) I refuse to help design a plan that will set you up for failure.
Here’s our Action Plan~
Step 1: Go through your finances and see where your money goes.
Step 2: Question why your money is spent the way it is.
Step 3: Design a game plan and start your journey to financial wellness.
I have worked with women just like you! We will work together to design a plan that fits YOUR budget and YOUR lifestyle! Budgets are not one-size-fits-all!
It isn’t all about the budget. We need to know the WHY behind the choices you make.
Take Sara. She was making $4,000 a month after taxes, but spending about $4,200 each month, on average. (Sometimes more!)
Together Sara and I implemented a system to track her money. (We can’t set up a budget until we see where your money goes.) Once we could see where her money was going, we were able to question the why behind where it was going. Once we were able to question why she was spending her money the way she was, we were able to come up with a game plan for her money.
Sara was shocked that $615 a month was going to Target purchases, and she didn’t even buy groceries at Target! We talked about what she buys there/what draws her to Target. She visits Target as a distraction. Runs by on her lunch hour or after work at least 3 times a week. (12 visits, minimum, a month.) Until we tracked her expenses, she hadn’t realized how often she was in Target, spending money. While she was thinking, “I only spent $50,” after each trip, that adds up FAST when you are spending it 12 times a month!
I asked her to look around her house and tell me what she gained from these trips.
Her answer surprised her: She had NO idea what she had bought with that money and had no way of tracking it. Spending $200 more each month that she was making, and not knowing how $615 a month was being spent at Target=Major Realization for her.
She was upset. Where had the money gone? Each and every month? What could that money have been used for? (Living below her means for starters, an emergency fund…)
There were other areas of her budget that needed tweaking, but this was the low hanging fruit. So this is where we started! We could stop $615 a month, or at least $500 or so of it, by simply NOT GOING INTO A TARGET STORE. She decided to go to Target twice in one month, to pick up basics she needed like toothpaste. But no impulse buys.
Sound hard? She actually didn’t think so. She scheduled her trips, went with a list, and left with only the items on her list. And she felt amazing!
It is empowering to go into Target and say,
“Dollar Bin-You aren’t getting me today!!! Cute scarf strategically positioned at the entrance-you WILL NOT leave with me today!!! Chapstick at checkout–you are not going in the BOTTOM of my purse along with all of the others today!!!”
We tackled Target, and Sara gained confidence in her decision making and self-control. After Target, she followed the rest of the action plan we had created. Now she is spending her money wisely, living her life without the stress of being in the red each month, and building her emergency fund-with awesome goals set for the future!
I want you to Spend Wisely. Live Fully. Retire Well.
That’s it!!! I don’t want this to be PAINFUL, I want it to be EMPOWERING!
Once you see that you can do this, that you have power over your money and how it is spent, it will be life-changing for you!
I’d love to partner with you on your journey! Please contact me at: Staci@Streamline365.com to get started! We will set up a tracking system, budget, and action plan, with your WHYs as your guide. I will coach you through the action plan. No need to go it alone! I look forward to working with you.
